Head Coach Vicki Luttrell
Coach V enters her second year as head coach of Riptide, bringing a wealth of experience, a passion for mentoring youth and a commitment to fostering personal growth. As a certified USA Swimming Coach and a coach for Diamond State Aquatics, Vicki creates a positive, supportive environment where swimmers of all abilities can thrive. Born and raised in Hawaii, Vicki’s competitive swimming journey began at age six, leading to a successful career as a distance freestyler and individual medley swimmer. Her collegiate swimming experience and time competing for teams in Hawaii and Delaware have equipped her with deep insights into the sport. With more than 15 years of coaching and mentoring youth, Vicki has made a significant impact in the community. She has also coached the MOT Charter High School swim team, guiding a record number of athletes to success at the state championships. Her work with Diamond State Aquatics further showcases her dedication to developing swimmers at all levels. Vicki’s coaching philosophy centers on recognizing each swimmer’s potential while fostering a sense of belonging and enjoyment within the team. She believes sports are transformative, building not only athletic skills but also life lessons like perseverance, teamwork and resilience. As she continues her role with Riptide, Vicki remains dedicated to empowering young athletes to reach their full potential in and out of the pool. Her enthusiasm, expertise and genuine love for coaching make her an invaluable asset to the Riptide family and the broader swimming community. |

Assistant Coach Emily Barnett
Emily is an incoming junior at Odessa High School, and is thrilled to be joining Riptide Swim Team as a coach. Since beginning her swimming journey in 2019, the sport has played a significant role in her development, both in and out of the water. Emily currently holds seven individual school records at Odessa, was a member of the states relay team, and qualified as a finalist in events at the state championship. In addition to high school experience, she trains year-round with the Delaware Swim Team, where she continues to refine her technique and competitive edge. Emily is eager to bring her experience, dedication, and passion for swimming to Riptide, and looks forward to helping each swimmer grow and succeed in their own journey. |

Assistant Coach Braden Giammatteo
Braden Giammatteo is a dedicated and passionate swimmer with a strong background in competitive swimming and leadership. He has trained and competed with Delaware State Aquatics (DSA), Riptide Swim Team, and Appoquinimink High School, developing a well-rounded foundation in both technique and team dynamics. Throughout his swimming career, Braden has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, earning the respect of his teammates and coaches alike. He served as captain for both the Appoquinimink High School swim team and the Riptide Swim Team, where he led by example and supported the development of younger swimmers. His leadership roles have honed his communication skills, sense of responsibility, and ability to motivate others. Braden brings not only competitive experience but also a strong desire to help swimmers grow and reach their full potential. His firsthand knowledge of the sport, combined with his approachable and team-oriented mindset, makes him a valuable asset to any coaching staff. |
