Hello Parents and family members,
Great turn out tonight for the parent meeting, thank you all for coming.
Here are some highlights, please let me know if you have any questions.
We will have 2 binders at the pool each morning-
- One is to sign your swimmer up for the swim meets. Please,
please, please don't forget to sign your swimmer up for each meet,
because if they aren't signed up the coaches will assume they aren't
coming and will not schedule them for any events. You must have your
swimmer signed up at least 5 days prior to the meet. (ie. if the meet
is on monday they must be signed up by thursdays practice)
Along with the meet schedule, in the binder, will be 2 coach attended
invitational meets. These are larger meets on Saturdays, usually have
many teams competing, and sometimes offer different types of events. For
the invitational meets, there is a fee per event that the parent will
need to cover.
- The other is for volunteering at meets and concession
donations. Parents make the swim meets possible without volunteers we
couldn't hold the meets; timers, concession stand, getting the kids to
their races and other jobs are all done by the parents. The concession
stand is our only fundraiser so please sign up to bring something.
Please make sure to check these binders out asap.
If you do sign up and find that you can't make it for one reason or
another, please call
Coach
Carla on her cell and leave her a message so that we can
edit the line up prior to the meet. Her cell is
530-1153.
Please make sure that we are leaving the pool and bathrooms as we found
them, clean and neat. No red grapes, chocolate or crayons as we have
found that these make stains and huge messes on the pool deck.
We will have a
flipper sale, so if you have fins that your swimmer has
outgrown bring them on
6/9
to Rhonda. She can get them ready and sell them for you
for $5.00 a pair.
The
Swim Shop will be at the pool on Tuesday 6/14 at 8:30am.
They will be taking orders for the team suits. They will also have caps,
goggles and fins for anyone who needs them. It is not a requirement that
you purchase a team suit but we would like the kids to all have at least
a navy swim suit and (if they wear a cap) the riptide cap. Rhonda
Brownrigg has caps for sale if you need them. It is always good to have
a spare pair of goggles and extra cap just in case too.
We are having a
time trial meet on Friday 6/17-time to be announced.
This will give each swimmer a baseline time, especially good for all of
the new swimmers. We will let you know what time it will start in the
morning. We will also need parents to volunteer that morning with
timing, etc.
Practice times are as follows beginning Monday 6/13 at Frog
Hollow:
Tsunami-6:30am-8am
Tidal Waves-8am-9:15
Waves-9am-10:15
Tides 10:15-10:45
We need to be out of the pool by 11am.
July Team Picnic:
Levels Road Picnic area 12:00 – thunderstorm
July 25 – July 29
Practice only for swimmers who have made a qualifying cut time for the
Delmarva League Championship meet.
